WEATHER

The area's climate is temperate year round with coastal winter averages around 60 and summer temps around 75. But the real beauty of the Monterey Peninsula is there's weather to suit most everyone due to the variety of microclimates. With it's azure ocean and typically warmer, clearer days, Yankee Point is known as Carmel's Riviera. However, if it's ever a bit too cool or overcast on the coast, a short drive lets you explore Carmel Valley's shops, sports and vineyards in a warmer climate. If the Valley proves too warm, just head back to catch the seaside breezes.

A native secret is that while the summer months in Carmel are always fun, the nicest summer one can enjoy is a winter in Carmel. While sunny days are truly glorious, witnessing the power of an ocean storm from the security of Ocean Cove's front row seat is a real thrill of nature. Whether it's wild or wonderful weather, Ocean Cove is always spectacular.
